Week 9 reading create tasks

 Hey bloggers !! 

WALT: Locate and summarise important information from a range of related texts .  

This week are topic for book choices is : " inspirational people" We had a choice to pick Amelia Earhart , martin Luther king jr. , Anne frank ( I really wanted to do this one but I could not so I will do it next week !) nelson mandala , Walt Disney !!! Alexander graham bell and Thomas Edison . Your probably wondering what the 8th book is well I saved the book I picked for last : Albert Einstein  .  For my second create task we had to create a presentation of 5 thing the person did to be inspiration . Then we had to show our fact file .  For my 3rd create task we had to create a inspirational poster  .. My inspirational message from myself is always be your self . The create task I most enjoyed was probably the third one because I could create my own inspirational poster .   Please enjoy !  :)

WALT: summerise and analyse ideas and information from diffrent texts . 

This week we had no books instead our topic was matariki . For my create task 1 I had to write what was in the 2 videos and in the 2 texts here is what I wrote :                                                                                     For my second create task I had to pick 2 can do's to complete . I picked do a word search  and the venn diagram the other 2 where a summary and an animation . My word search   is more lower down and so is my venn diagram .  Here is my create task 1 

 #1:

This video is about the seven stars of matariki . It is about these 2 sisters and the little sister

won’t let her older sister let her help with her painting so their  mum comes along and tells them

the story of matariki and the mum tells them that all the 7 sisters had to do was do an important job .

So then the little sister let her big sister help her . When they are finished seven sisters of matariki come to life . 

Video #2:

In this video they were telling us facts and what some maori people do for the maori new year .

They included what some people do when  it is matariki season . they also said it is a time to tell old

maori  stories to their  friends and family.

On this site it has lots of information about what matariki is and facts about matariki .

This page about matariki includes 10  paragraphs containing facts  . While I was reading the te papa page

about matariki I found out lots of different facts I did not know . Here are my top 3 

1.Matariki is a star cluster not a constellation

2.matariki stars mean the start of the moari new year . 

3.I found out that some people think that there are 9 stars on the other hand some other people

think there are 7 stars . So I found out . The answer is both .

Celebrating Puanga at Ramanui:

In this story there is this class and they are celebrating matariki in taranaki . They do all kinds of different

things like a hangi. When they do the hangi the children at taranaki school are in charge of it .

An astronomer even comes along and tells them about the different planets and all kinds of stars .

 

Student summit

Today some people and I went to Hornby primary school . The day before we got to  pick what we got to do in all four sections . I picked How to upgrade your google slides which was run by  Lucas and Mya . Then I went to book creater which was run by celine and taila . Then we ate morning tea . After morning tea I went to how to do a google forms then canva and now , I am done doing canva and I am writing this blog post . The schools that participated were Wigram , my school , Gilberthorpe my old school , st Bernadettes , south hornby school , yauldhurst model school , Hornby primary this school , and an unnamed school that I don't know the name because I don't think they had their school name on their uniform . Here are my presentations :   I made this on canva  .  The one that I made on book create is lost and I did't do much on my google slides , and my google form isn't finished so I did not put it on here  .

This week I am reading The empty pot . 

WALT : Make connections between yourself , other texts and the world . 

My create task 1 I had to write what reminded me of  the book . For myself I write : 

• I like the smell of flowers 
• I like planting flowers on hot days 
• My baby brother smells fake flowers 
• I sometimes water flowers
• I sometimes pick flowers                                                                                                                          For the other texts one I wrote  : 
• It reminds me of another story but I can't remember the name . 
• Coco the movie involves flowers 
• Tangled reminds me of flowers because Rapunzel has flowers in her hair             
• Chango and the moon has an Emperor 
• Pinocchio because of the lieing                                                                                                                  The box for the world I write 
• When you are gardening you usually see seeds 
• The emperor is a ruler . Like a prime minister or a president
• The moral of the story is be honest and you will get your prize 
• Emperors where basically a prime minister or a president 
• We do not have Emperors in China nowadays                                                                                              For my create task 2 we had to create a venn diagram .  This is in the slideshow containing my 3rd and 4th create task .

Hair there and everywhere ( Reading create )

WALT: Synthesize ideas and information in a narrative text.

This week I am reading Hair there and everywhere . It is about Rebecca who accidentally drank a medicine that will make her hair grow very long . The complementary text was a video about Rapunzel and everybody knows the story of Rapunzel .  The challenge text was a book on epic called Inside the Skin, Hair, & nails . It was about what is in your skin hair and nails as in the title .  For my second create task , like last week we had to create a comic strip based on what happened in your book that you where reading that week . For my first create task we had to plan a story then turn it into a animation using google slides , renderforest , and last but not least biteble as you can see I chose google slides . Anyway , hope you enjoy !

The red ball term 2 week 5

Hey readers !  WALT : Synthesize ideas and information in a narrative text.

This week for my create task I picked a book called the red ball . The other books

were

Egbert and the princess ,

Hair there and everywhere , The Goldilocks story ,

Rumpelstiltskin, and prince Zac and the wise frog .The complementary text was about Cinderella she lived with her step-family . Then there was a ball from the royal family

Cinderella's

family was invited but the evil stepmother

didn’t let her go . Then the fairy godmother came along and made her a

gorgeous dress and let her go to the ball .  When the clock strikes 12 she runs down

the stairs  drops her glass slipper the prince collects looks all over the kingdom and finds her.

Then they live happily ever after . 

The challenge text was a short video about Sofia the first it was

about Sofia she was sad that she couldn't spend any time with her mom anymore

because her mom married the king. For my second

create task I had to

create a comic

strip of my narrative text which for me was the red ball . I only finished 2/3 tasks .
